Riding & Northern Lights

When the nights are longer than the days, magical northern lights are dancing on the starry sky. From October to March we offer riding tours in the evening/night. This is a slow and easy ride for those who would like to experience both the Icelandic horse and the aurora borealis. Even though we cannot promise seeing any northern lights riding in the dark Icelandic landscape is something very special. Back at the farm, we offer some warm drinks and cakes in a candlelight atmosphere.

The riding tour starts at 8:30 pm and takes about one to one and a half hours. For the whole experience from arrival to departure from our farm you have to count with at least two hours. Price per person (2019): 14.500 ISK.

This ride has to be booked in advance. We will contact our guests at least three hours before departure if it will not be possible to go for the riding tour due to weather conditions and negative northern light forecast. The payment is done after the ride.

Please note: This riding tour only takes place in good weather and when sun activity has been predicted to be high enough to have the chance to see northern lights. We do NOT refund the price of the ride if you do not see any.
